About Fly Aware

Climate change is an urgent challenge that we all need to tackle together. That is why we, the world’s airlines, airports, air navigation service providers, and aviation manufacturers, have set bold targets to cut our emissions in half by 2050, compared to 2005 levels.

We’re on a long-haul journey. We’ve had our carbon targets for more than a decade, and a trip today produces half as much CO2 as 30 years ago. We’ve come a long way in a short time, but there is much more to achieve. This website explains what we’ve done, what we’re still planning to do and what you can do too.

Fly Aware is funded by IATA, the global association for the world’s airlines. If you’d like to find out more about what we’re doing to tackle climate change, visit IATA.org and enviro.aero, or contact us at flyaware@iata.org.
